Putting good practice into practice: literacy, numeracy and key skills within apprenticeships (Part 2)

This report is a follow-up to Putting good practice into practice: literacy, numeracy and key skills within apprenticeships (NRDC: January 2004). The research team revisited six of the original eight sites to report on developments made in LLN provision within apprenticeships frameworks in 2004–5. The team interviewed project managers, tutors, and learners, and collected data on completion and retention, and samples of embedded teaching and learning materials. Case studies of the six centres show a range of different approaches adopted and challenges faced in implementing and developing the front-loading of key skills.
