The LENS Collection

The NRDC Literacy, ESOL and Numeracy Scholarship Community

The LENS community offers access to a web-based collection of resources designed to support the development of post-graduate programmes which focus on adult literacy, ESOL and numeracy.  It is intended to contribute to the development of scholarly discourse, research and education in the areas of adult literacy, numeracy and ESOL.

The initial collection has been developed collaboratively by teacher educators and academics at four NRDC partner universities, Lancaster, Sheffield, Nottingham and the Institute of Education, University of London.  This initial collection includes material on:

  • Learning difficulties

  • Adult Numeracy pedagogy
  • Policy in Adult literacy

  • Reflective research and evaluation
